NEW ENGLAND SKA FEST

Catch THE ska happening of the summer on CBS’s new show “Wild Wild Web” THIS Sunday (10/5) on your local CBS affiliate! (This show is broadcast in the NYC’s area on Channel 2 at Noon — to find out when it airs in your neck of the woods, consult the show’s website at http://www.getwild.com! This show is carried in over 86% of the US’s markets, so you should be able to tune in.) “Wild Wild Web” features everything and anything involving the web — and since news about the New England Ska Festival was spread over the web (and ska is a hot topic on the net), the producers of this show checked it out. Bucket of The Toasters/Moon Ska was interviewed, as were many of the 3,000+ ska fans present — and there should be footage of several of the ska bands that graced the stage that day, including The Toasters, Skavoovie & The Epitones, Skinnerbox and (headliners) The Skatalites. Props to the producers of “Wild Wild Web” for covering the REAL ska story!

PRIOR NEWS

Over 3,000 ska fans showed up for the New England Ska Festival at the Nashoba Valley Ski Resort on August 23rd. Moon Ska was well represented with great sets from The Toasters, Skavoovie & The Epitones, Skinnerbox, Spring Heeled Jack, as well as Ska Satellite artist, Johnny Too Bad & The Strikeouts. Thanks to everyone who showed up and those of you who stopped by the merchandise booth to buy stuff and say ‘hey’ to Brett, Steve, Matt and (the festival emcee and dope human beat-box) Noah. The show was covered by a new CBS show, “Wild, Wild Web” (ska is hot on the web and this festival was heavily advertised via the Moon website and email mailings) and Bucket, among others, was interviewed. We’ll let you know when this fall this piece will be broadcast. Tentative plans are in the works for a repeat of this festival next summer — and it may hit the road, too. Stay tuned for more ska fun! (Thanks to promoter John Peters/MassConcerts for setting this whole thang up!)
