The Porkers

(a.k.a. The Pork Hunts)

MR138

Band Info

The Porkers are an Australian ska punk band from Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.

They formed in 1987 as ‘The Pork Hunts’ (The Poor Cunts…get it? e.d.), the band was eventually ‘forced'(?)[citation needed] to change its name to the less offensive-sounding ‘The Porkers’ in 1990. Their first release was the 1990 EP entitled ‘Tired of Being Pork Hunts’.

They released two full-length albums on Moon Ska Records. Both were released independently and through ‘Sound System Records’ in Australia. The album ‘Hot Dog Daiquiri’ was subsequently released by ‘Radley Records’ on vinyl in 2018, 18 years after the close of ‘Moon Ska Records’.
