    “NEW ENGLAND SKA FESTIVAL”
Over 3,000 ska fans showed up for the New England Ska Festival at the Nashoba Valley Ski Resort on August 23rd. Moon Ska was well represented with great sets from The Toasters, Skavoovie & The Epitones, Skinnerbox, Spring Heeled Jack, as well as Ska Satellite artist, Johnny Too Bad & The Strikeouts. Thanks to everyone who showed up and those of you who stopped by the merchandise booth to buy stuff and say ‘hey’ to Brett, Steve, Matt and (the festival emcee and dope human beat-box) Noah. The show was covered by a new CBS show, “Wild, Wild Web” (ska is hot on the web and this festival was heavily advertised via the Moon website and email mailings) and Bucket, among others, was interviewed. We’ll let you know when this fall this piece will be broadcast. Tentative plans are in the works for a repeat of this festival next summer — and it may hit the road, too. Stay tuned for more ska fun! (Thanks to promoter John Peters / Mass Concerts for setting this whole thang up!)

    “CMJ MUSIC FESTIVAL”
For the first time ever, Moon Ska Records participated in the CMJ Music Festival at NYC’s Lincoln Center, during the first week of September. Patti and Steve held court at our Moon Ska booth (with some help from native New Yorker Ariel Hyatt), where we gave out over 1500 Moon Ska samplers and answered lots of questions. (Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello – and to our friends at the Disc Makers booth, Carolyn, Stephanie, Andre and Jeff, who were so nice to us.) The height of the week was, in our humble view, the Moon Ska/CMJ Showcase at Wetlands. The Moon bands featured were Skavoovie & The Epitones, Easy Big Fella (who flew in from Seattle), Skinnerbox, Isaac Green & The Skalars and (new Ska Satellite recording artists) Edna’s Goldfish. All of these bands rocked the house – and everyone left with a smile on their face and a ska tune in their heart. Props to all the CMJ folks, especially Robert, Brenda, Megan and Virginia!
  • “REBOUND TOUR”
Please support live ska music when it comes to your town! The Rebound Tour features Isaac Green and The Skalars (St. Louis, MO) , The Articles (Detroit, MI) and Magadog (Florida) keepin’ it real in a town near you! Most of the shows are all ages and feature cheap admission (usually $5 or $6 bucks), so there’s no excuse not to show up, support these bands and have a good time doing it! (See Isaac Green & The Skalars listing below for dates and info!)

The Allstonians will be touring Europe this fall in support of their great new CD, “The Allston Beat.” The tour is scheduled for October — and when I have the details, I’ll pass them along to you!
