LET’S GO BOWLING
At The Granada
PITCH WEEKLY
KANSAS CITY, MO
SUNDAY, OCT 13, 1996
Ever since opening for Pearl Jam at Lawrence’s Day on the Hill festival several years ago, Let’s Go Bowling has been one of the Midwest’s favorite ska imports. Filled with all the accoutrements that define the nifty style – the killer rhythm and horn sections, the guitarist obsessed with the off-beat, the band names that cry out “merri-ment” — this California throng is back after a brief hiatus (and band restructuring) with ‘Mr. Twist’, their sophomore release. Veterans of the new wave of ska, this bowling team has been together for a decade despite having no members in their thirties yet. Just look what happens when you combine youth and experience — Let’s Go Bowling is the Drew Barrymore of ska. Cherry Poppin’ Daddies and Reel Big Fish open this 18 & over show.
